June 17 to June 25, 2006

Depart North Carolina. Visit Fort Knox in Kentucky. Visit Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Go swimming in Lake Michigan. Drive through Chicago and visit the Field Museum. Visit Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (Wounded Knee) in South Dakota. Visit Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Devil's Tower. Practice rock climbing and rappelling. Visit the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and the World's Largest Hot Springs. Attend a rodeo in Cody, Wyoming. Visit Yellowstone.  See Old Faithful and the hot springs. Camp at the base of the Grand Tetons in Coulter Bay. Climb to the top of Signal Mountain. Go whitewater rafting down the Snake River.

June 26 to July 2, 2006

Travel through the Columbia River Gorge in Montana. Hike a glacier on Mt. Rainier. Tour the Mt. Saint Helens visitors' center. Camp in the Deep Dark Woods near Crater Lake in Oregon. Hike the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Eat lunch at Fisherman's Wharf. Ride a cable car and visit Chinatown in San Francisco. Visit Yosemite National Park.

July 3 to July 9, 2006

Explore Yosemite and Glacier Point. Hike from Glacier Point to the summit of Half Dome. Climb and rappel on the Puppy Dome. Visit the historic ghost town of Bodine. Watch the sunset in Death Valley. Eat at a buffet in Las Vegas. Camp at the Lake Mead National Seashore. Cross the Hoover Dam. Hike the Grand Canyon, from rim to river and back!

July 10 to July 16, 2006

Visit Indian reservations in Arizona's Monument Valley. Decipher petroglyphs in Utah's Goosenecks of the San Juan River. Visit Four Corners (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado). Tour Indian cliff dwellings at Canyon De Chelly National Monument. See an authentic Native American pow wow. Play on the white gypsum sands of White Sands National Monument, NM. Hike to the summit of Guadalupe Peak. Explore the caves of Carlsbad Caverns. Visit the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, TN. Camp in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
